[A scrappy comeback story set amid cyberpunk civil unrest]
Lu Li has the most absurd job interview in history: a self-destructing drone “fast-tracks” her into the only company at the event with any survivors, where she becomes a battlefield courier for a bottom-tier logistics crew.
Lu Li: “I'm afraid of dying! Count me out!”
To keep this “talent” from walking, the boss makes an offer on the spot, in a market where the average monthly salary is 600 Alliance credits: 50 Alliance credits a day!
Afraid of dying but eminently practical, Lu Li doesn't hesitate for even a second. “I'm in!”
And so begins her brand-new battlefield life: outrunning drones to stay alive and fighting clients for cover.
A filthy-rich client: “Do you have any sense of customer service?”
Broke Lu Li: “Is that more important than staying alive?”
And just like that, they become sworn enemies, bickering day in and day out.
But starting a business is risky, and entering the field requires caution. The situation at the front grows increasingly dire, and the squad loses contact with headquarters. As one teammate after another dies or runs off, Lu Li becomes the logistics crew's last survivor, thanks to her outstanding talent for staying alive.
Just as she's about to be unemployed again, a former client offers her an olive branch:
“Want to learn command? Join the Alliance Army. The future is full of possibilities.”
Lu Li: “Do they cover food and lodging? Can I run when things go wrong? Is there compensation if I die?”
Rich Guy: “She runs faster than a robot dog. I recommend docking her pay by the second.”
So, for 500 Alliance credits a day, Lu Li, still afraid of dying but exceptionally practical, decides to sell herself a second time. From then on, she's on a one-way road to a career as an Alliance Army commander. Luckily, her rich second-generation client (formerly) and dedicated, conscientious logistics officer (currently) seem to always be there.
This is the story of how a master of staying alive makes a comeback and becomes a legendary commander.
Pairing: Sharp-tongued client and logistics officer x ultra-pragmatic, life-preserving rookie commander
[Master of staying alive]: “You complain all day, so why don't you run?!”
[Insufferable pest]: “You're terrified of dying, but you haven't run either!”
Theme: Being alive has meaning.
I can die, but I can't live without money. When poverty and death come together, I choose to abandon poverty and welcome death. In layman's terms, it means making money, not shabby.
Money can make the mill push the devil.
Is this a chip war? So scary
What advanced technology, the future technology is so developed
Xia: Oh my god, what a scary look in my eyes
I feel that people at the bottom have untold sufferings 😭 😭
If you want money, you have to live to enjoy it.
That is to say, if there is no emperor to manage, if you still dare to rebel, the entire planet will be gone if the extermination order is issued. Without this planet, there is no rebellion.
It must be locked. After all, I feel that you are a bit too high-profile, like the only army with a purpose after the chaos in the city.
Doesn't this count? The business collapsed halfway through the business. It seems that the background of the rebellion should be related to AI. Is intelligence going to rule mankind?
