"Did the Logistics Officer Run Away Today?"
This was the most absurd job fair Lu Li had ever attended.
One moment, she was being picky among a bunch of positions desperate to hire. The next, an EMP bomb carried by a drone came hurtling toward them, wiping out 99% of the jobs on the spot. And so she and a handful of other survivors were hired by the only position left standing.
The good news: She had a job.
The bad news: She might not live long enough to get paid.
The civil war in the Salia Alliance had erupted for no apparent reason. To survive, Lu Li was talked into joining a guerrilla squad with no equipment, no supplies, and no backing. Luckily, they had a big shot!
The big shot brought the equipment, recruited an advisor, took command, and personally trained them into the first proper motley crew. Somehow, they scraped through to the civil war semifinals and were incorporated into the regular army.
Then the big shot ran away! Lu Li, the rookie commander who only knew how to stay alive, was left completely dumbfounded.
Luckily, the sharp-tongued logistics officer the big shot had brought along kept complaining about wanting to run away, but never actually did. And Lu Li herself had already grown into someone just like the big shot.
