After Chu Qing died of illness, he was bound to the "Even Passing Characters Go Crazy" System. As long as he completed missions, filling in the rest of a novel that had been abandoned halfway and making it more exciting, he would be rewarded with a chance to be reborn.
The beginner mission he was assigned was simple, with a difficulty rating of half a star. All he had to do was add a few twists to the romances of three gong-shou couples in a sweet romance, then give the book a sweet, happy ending.
Chu Qing threw himself into the work, trying his best to spice up the couples' otherwise bland relationships.
Gong 1 and Shou 1's meeting in the library was too dull. Easy!
Chu Qing created a role for himself as a bullying passerby who threw his weight around. He got to the book first, and when Gong 1 and Shou 1 came looking for it, he lifted his chin haughtily and said in a nasty tone, "I might let you have it, but only if you buy me milk tea!"
The result: Chu Qing ended up with two cups of milk tea and the WeChat contacts of Gong 1 and Shou 1.
Gong 2 and Shou 2 got along too much like brothers. He needed to create some romantic tension. Easy!
Chu Qing created a role for himself as a passerby with a crush on Gong 2. He blushed prettily as he handed Shou 2 a love letter and asked him to pass it along.
The result: Shou 2 thought his childhood friend wouldn't be interested in Chu Qing, but agreed to help anyway. Then, with the tips of his ears red, he added Chu Qing on WeChat.
Gong 3 and Shou 3's romance had gone off the rails. The story had been dragging on for ages, and Gong 3 was still afraid of being attracted to men. Easy!
Chu Qing created a role for himself as a sleepwalking passerby who climbed into someone's bed. He deliberately wore an oversized T-shirt and climbed into Gong 3's bed, hoping to make Gong 3 come to terms with himself.
The result: Chu Qing was held in Gong 3's arms all night. Gong 3 said that as his roommate, he would make sure to take good care of Chu Qing from then on.
.
Chu Qing diligently carried out his missions, only for the System to tell him that the difficulty rating for revising the book had risen to five stars. Correspondingly, the book's excitement rating had also risen to five stars.
System: Keep it up, Chu Bao! Just give it the perfect ending and you'll become a legendary author with a book that takes the world by storm! You'll be a legend of the Transmigration Bureau!
Chu Qing nodded seriously. "I'll do my best to give all three couples sweet romances."
System: ? But, Chu Bao, the next part is a love-triangle showdown!
Chu Qing stared in shock. "What?!"
