Also known as The White Moonlight Is the Evil Supporting Male Character
Yu Zhi was adopted by the Yu family. He has had a heart condition since childhood, but his parents and brothers have always loved him as if he were their own.
But ever since a strange voice appeared, everything has been heading toward an absurd ending Yu Zhi could never have anticipated.
Yu Zhi has been in the hospital lately because of heart palpitations.
"Zhi Zhi, are you feeling all right today?" His gentle, considerate eldest brother patted his head.
Yu Zhi obediently brushed his soft hair against his palm. "I'm fine, Big Brother. Don't worry about me."
A mechanical voice suddenly rang out in his mind.
[He's not worried about you. He's worried about someone else.]
Yu Zhi thought he was imagining things.
[Don't believe me? Listen to his thoughts yourself.]
His eldest brother's voice sounded in his ears.
[I wonder how that dummy is doing at home. He was sick last night, too...]
After his eldest brother left, his second brother came by.
His second brother brought him the game console he'd been longing for and chatted with him for a while before leaving. Yu Zhi was unusually quiet today and, unlike usual, didn't ask him to stay a little longer. His second brother turned back in surprise to look at him on the hospital bed as he left.
[What a pain. I have to come to the hospital first thing in the morning. I might as well have stayed home to keep the little dummy company...]
That evening, Yu Zhi's parents came to visit.
Yu Zhi hugged them tightly. "Mom, Dad, will you always love me?" They held him close.
"Of course, Zhi Zhi."
[I've raised him for so many years. That's enough.]
Yu Zhi looked at the back of his hand, where his IV was taped. It was badly bruised in several places from all the needles over the past two days. Of course he knew who they were worried about: the person the Yu family had found a year ago to match him for a heart transplant.
The more you care about your family, the more you use your life as leverage to keep them close. But when no one feels sorry for you even as you play the victim, that's when you truly wake up.
