Maomao is a dairy cat beastperson born on a beast planet. After graduating from military academy, she accidentally switches bodies with the heiress of a bathhouse and arrives on Earth.
The System says that to return to the beast planet, she has to fit into human society. Maomao considers her strengths:
One, she's strong and has powerful psychic abilities. Two, she can hear animals' thoughts and talk to them.
Her weakness is that she knows nothing about human society.
By chance, she meets Ye Liang, a stray cat who has spent years running with the wrong crowd. He points her in the right direction: team up with stray cats and dogs, set up the Meow-Meow Errand Shop, and earn money by completing clients' requests.
With livestreaming on the rise, Maomao and the System immediately create an account to keep startup costs down. They take requests on stream, advertising their core services:
"We specialize in communication between people and pets and finding missing persons. Whatever you want, we can do it!"
At first, nobody watches her livestream. Then a local influencer, frantic with worry over a cat that's been missing for days, clicks in. Thinking that even a blind cat might stumble onto a dead mouse, she shows Maomao a photo of the cat.
Ye Liang, sitting nearby, can't wait to meow and gesture wildly.
"Streamer, what is it saying?"
Maomao translates: "Ye Liang has seen your cat. It escaped from the hospital and went to Five-Star Street, where it had kittens."
The influencer is stunned and drives over. Sure enough, she finds a shocking scene, grabs the cat, and takes it back to the hospital to get it neutered. Caught, the cat glares with wide eyes. "Meow, meow, meow!"
Maomao translates again: "It says it's already had kittens, so it has no regrets about being neutered!"
Chat comments: Can the streamer really understand animals?!
The influencer is deeply grateful and spreads the word on her own. More and more people join the livestream, and Maomao gets more and more requests.
There, she meets a good cat who wants to be its owner's nanny, another good cat who thinks its owner is a sinister little mouse... She also takes on all sorts of bizarre requests, like finding a mate for someone's dog, helping a pet lose weight, and finding lost cats and dogs.
The Meow-Meow Errand Shop grows more and more famous. What began as a tiny storefront expands into countless branches, including a cat noodle shop, a cat-and-dog massage parlor, and a Meow-Meow Cafe. Even stray cats find jobs to make a living, and from then on, cats and humans are equals.
"The first time I saw so many homeless stray cats and dogs in the city, they were enduring hunger, living without shelter, and even suffering abuse and bullying... The ultimate goal of setting up the errand shop is to do everything I can to give stray animals a safe home, help them become part of society, and let them earn warmth and food through their own abilities. A day will come when humans and beasts are equal."
