No Wind at the Equator [Broken Up and Reunited]

[Cheerful, outgoing, lively sweetheart × Reclusive, gloomy, germaphobic cool guy] Childhood friends | Male lead: dominant on the outside, submissive within | Female lead turns the dominant one into the submissive one

Jiang Hai is sweet-faced and warmhearted, a little ray of sunshine. From kindergarten through high school, every classmate likes her. But not a single one likes the withdrawn, frail little shadow who follows her around: Zhu Yuan.

Her best friend secretly warns her, "Stop hanging out with Zhu Yuan. He always stares at you, and even waits outside when you go to the bathroom. Don't you think he's creepy?"

Jiang Hai just smiles and never takes it seriously.

Maybe he clings to her because her older sister married into the Zhu family, she and Zhu Yuan live in the same house, and they're the same age.

In the second semester of senior year, Zhu Yuan gets accepted early, but still insists on picking Jiang Hai up and dropping her off every day, and bringing her nutritious meals at noon.

During one tutoring session, Jiang Hai spots several indescribable marks on him and snaps her pen in anger. "Who dared to bully you?"

Zhu Yuan shakes his head and says nothing.

Jiang Hai holds back until after the college entrance exams, then drags Zhu Yuan around to ask every person in their class.

The girls say they don't know. The boys turn pale. "Who'd dare bully Brother Yuan? One punch from him could send someone flying into the sky."

"Then what are those injuries on you?" Jiang Hai asks, confused.

Zhu Yuan silently leads her into the secret room in his study, a place he never lets anyone enter.

Jiang Hai stares at the room full of toys she'd never seen before and countless pictures of herself at every age, captured in every possible mood. She's utterly stunned.

Beneath the dim yellow light, the pale, handsome boy's face finally takes on the twisted flush his classmates had described.

"Make me dirty, little sister."

Reader's Guide:

2. The leads have a wild fling during the summer after senior year, then reunite in college after falling out.

3. Set against China's new college entrance exam system, "3+1+2": Chinese, math, and English, plus physics or history, plus two of politics, geography, biology, and chemistry.

4. The male lead is high-functioning autistic, previously referred to as having Asperger's. He has a high IQ, but also rigid routines, sensitivity to sound, sensory overload, and germophobia.

5. To be added.

No wind at the equator, love's mist lasts forever.
