Cen Shu should have been working on his graduation project, but instead he was curled up on a sofa in the studio, scrolling through videos.
The video creator was complaining about an elementary school classmate. They hadn't been in touch for ten years, and out of the blue, the classmate messaged to ask if the creator was seeing anyone.
The creator said no.
The very next message was: "I think you're pretty great. If you can't find anyone, you could marry me."
The third message: "We're practically family now, so lend me 200 yuan."
The creator summed it up: When an old classmate suddenly pops up, they either want to borrow money, get you to chip in for a gift, or get with you.
One commenter asked, "What if they're genuinely in love with you?"
