Lukawi is the last demon in the world.
He has only three goals in life:
1. Don't get killed by angels.
2. Deal with all the blame he gets dumped on him every day. (He's a kind, unlucky demon who hasn't done anything wrong, but keeps taking the fall.)
3. Protect his human boyfriend, Lalor Kai.
Humans really are so fragile.
One day, Lukawi had just finished killing an angel in self-defense and returned home to find his badly injured boyfriend bandaging a wound.
Lukawi felt awful for him. It was all the angel's fault for wasting his time. If he'd gotten home earlier, his boyfriend wouldn't have been hurt.
Humans are always so busy.
Lukawi was celebrating Valentine's Day with his human boyfriend when his boyfriend suddenly got up and said he had an urgent matter to take care of.
Fine. Watching his boyfriend walk away, Lukawi silently took out his giant scythe.
As luck would have it, he sensed another false accusation coming his way. He might as well deal with it while he had the time.
He could handle the latest scapegoating and fight an angel one-on-one, then get back in time to continue their candlelit dinner.
Humans really do make a fuss over nothing.
On the first of every month, demons can't hide their true forms. Lukawi was afraid of scaring his human boyfriend, so he went out to stay elsewhere.
This time he left a little late and ran into his boyfriend, who had come home early.
Lukawi decided to come clean. "Darling, you know demons exist in this world, right?"
Lalor Kai, an angel pretending to be human: !?
Lukawi: "Since demons exist, it's perfectly possible that your boyfriend just happens to be one. That's normal."
Lalor Kai: "But I've heard demons do bad things."
At that, Lukawi burst into tears and threw himself into Lalor Kai's arms. "Those are things I was blamed for. I'm really just a kind demon who cleans up other people's messes."
"But every time, an angel catches me at the scene. He's an unreasonable jerk who insists I'm the prime suspect just because I'm there."
"I'm so wronged."

One day, Lukawi saw that his human boyfriend had a pair of white wings.
Lukawi: Wait, what?
No!
Lalor Kai: "Um, angels exist in this world, so it's perfectly possible that your boyfriend just happens to be one. That's normal."
"So, can you let bygones be bygones, baby? I'll make it up to you. Just don't break up with me."
Lukawi slammed the door and left.
