After dying, Oda Sakunosuke is brought back to life by an owl calling itself a wish-granting machine. He has no choice but to head to Gotham and begin his daily struggle to survive in another world.
Right from the start, the owl's powers go out of control and accidentally bring him some missing children.
Owl: "Waaah, I didn't do it on purpose! Wait for me! I'll definitely fix this bug!"
Looking at a boy in front of him who only bangs on the table and waits for food while calling himself a great detective, and a little brat who can't keep his eyes off big sisters...
Oda Sakunosuke: "...Is this really going to work?"
To get a job that would hold up in public, Oda Sakunosuke opens a detective agency with his unreliable assistants.
Owl: "Don't doubt me. Being a detective has a lot of potential in Gotham!"
It really does have a lot of potential. Every day, they're either investigating a murder or trying to stop a robbery.
Question: How many steps does it take to turn a former assassin and former Mafia member into Gotham's newest crime-fighting hero?
Answer: First, summon a great detective. Next, summon a Mafia boss. Finally, summon the police to uphold justice!
At first, Oda Sakunosuke only wanted to help people who had accidentally gotten caught up in Gotham. Later, he reunites with his friends and meets more people who stay true to themselves.
He decides to pick up his pen again and write the story that should have ended long ago.
A few things to know:
1. Oda Sakunosuke has no romantic pairing. The whole cast shares father-son and friendship bonds. Boss Dazai appears, and the ending is happy.
2. The System is a good owl.
3. This isn't a grim, dark Bat-family story. The naturally straightforward Oda Sakunosuke can make trouble for everyone.
