When Sif received her first baptism at the altar in the sacred forest, a monster wrapped itself around her pinky finger.
It was a delicate, pretty little patch of moss, trembling as it clung to her, so pitiful and adorable. Sif felt sorry for it, so she secretly brought it back to the Holy Tower and fed it her blood.
It grew bigger and bigger, and the Holy Father might discover and kill it at any moment. Sif could no longer hide it, so she had no choice but to release it back into the wild.
Not long afterward, a royal from a neighboring country arrived on horseback to marry into the kingdom. The Holy Father welcomed him warmly and arranged for him to stay next door to Sif, hoping the two would fall in love and marry.
No one knew that every night, moss would cover Sif's room. Tiny flowers bloomed on it as it pressed tightly against every inch of her skin. The handsome man knelt before her, holding her finger. His emerald-green eyes, just like a plant's, shone with infatuation and pleading. “I’m human now. Will you marry me?”
Sif brushed the moss off herself and said helplessly, “Stop fooling around, little moss. Give His Highness the Prince his body back.”
He was silent for a long time, then raised his hand and had the moss pierce the prince's body.
The green-haired, green-eyed man emerged from the prince's body. His cold fingers slipped between Sif's, holding them tightly. “I’ll do as you say.”
Sif looked at the prince's corpse and frowned slightly. Before she could reply, the monster had already lowered his head to suck on the tip of her tongue.
Even his breath was cold as it brushed the loose strands of hair beside her ear. “This is my reward for being good.”
He shed his pretense of being weak and harmless. The entire Holy Tower was swallowed by moss, transformed into a paradise for his courtship.
