The famous detective Su Xin, a specialist in "impossible crimes," died and found herself in a bizarre world that combined several horror movies.
This world had not only the deranged serial killers of crime thrillers, but also the evil spirits, ghosts, demons, and vampires of supernatural horror films. There was even an obsessive-compulsive grim reaper who never showed his face from beginning to end.
From the start, she landed in the family of a classic horror-movie victim, and found herself living with the deranged little girl from Orphan and the Annabelle doll.
A clown would suddenly pop up from a sewer and smile at her. When she stayed in a hotel, twins would stand by her bed to greet her. The handsome, elegant psychiatrist turned out to be a cannibal behind closed doors.
Someone even sent her a cursed videotape from Japan, despite having to travel thousands of miles to do it.
With a difficulty level this absurd, it wouldn't be unreasonable to give herself a cheat, would it?
"Detective Privilege, Rule One: Detectives cannot be killed."
When a detective becomes the protagonist of a horror movie, the monsters are the first to lose it.
At first, they didn't realize how serious the situation was. They just treated the detective like an ordinary person.
Then they discovered that the detective, who proudly championed materialism, couldn't even see them, and they couldn't use supernatural powers in her presence.
After they had gone to all the trouble of killing someone, the detective would casually say:
"There are no ghosts in this world. It's all just human trickery."
"Detective Privilege, Rule Two: There can be no supernatural or paranormal forces in a detective story."
The monsters broke down. How am I supposed to prove I exist?!
Through their tireless efforts, the monsters finally got the detective to acknowledge their existence one day. She amended her detective privileges to include ghosts and monsters in the definition of a culprit.
Overjoyed, the monsters went several days and nights without killing anyone. But when the detective returned from vacation, they heard her say, in a bored tone:
"How dull. So it was all dark creatures killing people. This case must be the same."
The monsters, breaking down all over again: How am I supposed to prove I didn't do it this time?!
Meanwhile, the deranged serial killers, anxiously waiting for the detective to catch them, were met with cold indifference.
The even more devastated serial killers: Does my crime not deserve the detective's attention?
Then one night, as the detective was getting ready to fall asleep with Annabelle in her arms, her nice-neighbor cannibal Mr. Hannibal paid her the first visit...
In a world where both humans and monsters took turns losing it, only the grim reaper, who preferred not to show his face but met his daily KPI, smiled with satisfaction.
Ever since the famous detective arrived, he hadn't had to go to work.
