Heng Shu is an evil villainess.
By coincidence, she looks exactly like the heroine.
She doesn't have the heroine's luck or her noble status.
She schemes and struggles for the sake of her own life, suffering countless hardships.
In the end,
She becomes a cannon-fodder character nobody cares about.
In her final moments, filled with resentment and unwillingness, she drags the heroine down to the underworld with her. To her surprise, they are both reborn.
Strangely, on the day they are reborn, she accidentally kills the heroine!?
A voice called the System suddenly appears, cursing her out by her ear and declaring that she's doomed.
After unleashing a torrent of abuse, the System suddenly changes its tune.
Apparently with no other choice, it binds itself to her and demands that she take over the original heroine's identity and complete the missions.
She agrees.
When she asks what the mission is,
The System tells her, "Villainess, ahem, heroine. Your only mission is to win over the male lead. Yes, make him fall in love with you."
"Who's the male lead?"
The System replies, "The one who's most upright and admired by all, the heaven's favored son."
Heng Shu raises an eyebrow. She vaguely remembers that in her previous life, the original heroine was always throwing herself at some pretty boy. He was fairly handsome, so she agrees.
But after pursuing him for over half a year,
Heng Shu has tried every trick in the book, with only one plan left: to take him by force.
The male lead's affection remains a touching [zero].
She starts questioning the System: "Are you sure he's the male lead?"
She thinks that even a monk would be moved by her sincerity and give up his vows, so how can his affection still be zero?
Heng Shu comes to a conclusion:
Either he prefers men,
Or he's not a man at all.
Over time, Heng Shu's enthusiasm for this male lead gradually fades. Fortunately, her lonely, boring days don't last long. She finds herself a new amusement.
One day, she happens upon her archenemy from her previous life. He is also a villain through and through, despised by everyone and the ultimate lovesick fool, devoted to the original heroine.
Thinking of that, Heng Shu sneers.
Her archenemy pursued the original heroine for his entire life, but the goddess of his dreams still married another man.
His fate in his previous life wasn't much better.
Now he's at the lowest point in his life.
She ponders for a while, watching from afar as her archenemy is beset by enemies and falls into danger. Then she falls into thought.
A moment later, a wicked idea takes shape.
At the moment of crisis, she sweeps in like a violent wind scattering fallen leaves, as swift as thunder. With her long sword, she blocks a crushing attack in one move, staging a gallant rescue of the young man.
Her archenemy stares in stunned disbelief, shock impossible to hide in his eyes.
She pretends to be kind, tricks her archenemy into becoming her disciple,
Brings him back to her territory, and torments and orders him around day after day to vent her anger.
But before long, she grows tired of the game and starts looking for an excuse to expel him from her sect.
One day, while arguing with her rebellious disciple, Heng Shu loses her temper and slaps him.
Her own hand goes numb with pain.
The System sends a rare, thundering congratulatory message: "Congratulations, Host! The target's affection has increased by ten points. Keep up the good work!"
Confused, she still gives a curt nod and coldly orders him, showing no sentiment: "I'm tired of you. From now on, get out. You and I are no longer master and disciple."
The young man freezes in shock. A rather swollen red mark appears on his delicate face. His gaze is inscrutable as he kneels on the ground, looking pitiful and vulnerable like an abandoned stray: "Master, you're sick of me because of someone who has nothing to do with us?"
The System issues an urgent warning that shakes her to the core: "Host, be advised: the male lead's affection has dropped to negative 999. Make amends immediately to avoid being erased by the Heavenly Dao."
Heng Shu's pupils contract as she stares at her archenemy, suddenly realizing the truth.
