Zhai Qingxi was Gu Fengzhou's high school Chinese teacher and her first girlfriend. From Gu Fengzhou's senior year of high school to her senior year of college, they spent five years struggling to make it work, then finally broke up.
Seven years later, Gu Fengzhou happened to hear that Zhai Qingxi had been hospitalized.
When the old lovers met again, their eyes reddened.
Gu Fengzhou insisted on taking care of her.
Zhai Qingxi: "Don't you have work?"
Gu Fengzhou: "The company went bankrupt. I have nothing to do."
When Zhai Qingxi was discharged, she said politely, "Thank you for taking care of me."
Gu Fengzhou: "You're welcome. I heard you opened a Taobao shop. How many employees do you have?"
"None. It's a small shop, just me."
Gu Fengzhou's eyes lit up. "Are you hiring?"
Zhai Qingxi: "..."
Gu Fengzhou: "I can do anything: customer service, packing orders, purchasing, operations. I even know a little video editing, and I can livestream too."
Zhai Qingxi: "Aren't you a CEO?"
Gu Fengzhou: "That was then. Boss Zhai, give me a chance. Five or six thousand a month is fine..."
Zhai Qingxi: "I can't afford that."
Gu Fengzhou: "Three thousand, then? Or even two thousand. You don't have to pay social insurance."
Gu Fengzhou forced her way into the job. After working for a few months, she made a new request:
"Boss Zhai, can you provide room and board?"
She wanted to sleep in Zhai Qingxi's bed again, and she meant that kind of sleep!
