I Won't Try to Win Back My Scumbag Ex

The story begins just like every melodramatic novel.

[A couple have reached the age when, if they break up, they'll marry someone else. The man is disappointed in the woman and breaks up with her, then quickly marries someone else. In the end, the woman never gets over him and remains unmarried for life, while the man is held back by his responsibilities and the trivialities of married life, dying with regrets.]

Leng Weixin naively thought that no matter how much she put him through, Wu Yi would never leave. Until one day.

"I'm getting married."

"I'm officially inviting you to the wedding today."

After spending thirty years without a relationship, Leng Weixin had just fallen in love for the first time. Five months after their breakup, she received a voice message from her ex-boyfriend Wu Yi inviting her to his wedding.

After that, she spent a year's salary and scoured the internet for metaphysics masters, trying everything from tarot readings and birth charts to Daoist reconciliation rituals and Southeast Asian love-binding spells.

Until she met a young sorcerer.

The sorcerer said, "Want to try a love-binding ritual? No results, no payment."

Leng Weixin: "I just had a love spell cast."

The sorcerer: "Why not try mine?"

"I've got even stronger ones."

"Like what?"

"Fox spirits, soul-summoning, dream-entry spells."

He defied fate and returned to the year they broke up, only to discover that he had returned to a parallel world. He wasn't himself. He had become an outsider.

Watching her tormented by love, casting divinations and drawing lots, trapped in obsession until she had spent all her strength, he wielded magic as a blade to sever karmic ties, break her inner demons, free her from her romantic tribulation, and banish the nightmare of her past life.

At last, he stood in a rift in time, watching her with someone else, watching the lines in his palm gradually turn transparent, yet he couldn't bring himself to say those two words.

If someone was fated to be trapped in memories, this time, he alone would be enough.

Happy ending
