Before going to see her mother, Qing Xue met Duan Ling.

He treated her with kindness and care,

and even said he liked her.

Qing Xue felt a little troubled. She hadn't planned to stay long.

Duan Ling said, "Then before you leave, let me make you like me."

His urgency was almost humble.

Qing Xue didn't understand. "Like in a dream? When I leave, will you wake up?"
