Lin Lexu cannot forget what happened eleven years ago, and she doesn't dare think about it, either. When she wakes in the middle of the night, unable to stop the memories drifting through her mind, she sees first the handsome young man with gentle eyes, who used to address her properly as "Junior Martial Uncle."
Then comes that fateful night on the mountain of corpses.
She cannot tell whether the scenes in her memories are exactly what happened back then. She only knows that such a horrific scene could not have been silent. There were no heart-wrenching screams. In the blink of an eye, the ground was drenched in blood and corpses littered the land.
The sky had yet to brighten, and the bright moon shone like frost and snow.
She could clearly see every face lying in pools of blood. Everyone was looking at her, their expressions full of pain, without a sound.
But that young man struggled to climb out of the pile of bodies and staggered in front of her. His final plea was, "Junior Martial Uncle, live!"
And so Lin Lexu survived.
One of the few to make it out of the horrific massacre on the mountain of corpses, she eked out an existence in Xiaochanjian for eleven years.
Eleven years later, Lin Lexu finally found the courage to leave the mountain.
Heading north, before she reached Linjiang, she unexpectedly encountered the young man who had once stood in front of her.
He wore snow-white robes and had a tall, slender frame.
He was still as handsome as ever, but much less gentle. The chill of Linjiang's snowy plains seemed to cling to him, and his dark eyes were as unfathomable as the river beneath the night sky.
He stood two steps away and calmly greeted her: "Long time no see, Miss Lin."
