After Sentencing the Doll Detective to Life in Prison

Ayatsuji Yukito, a sharp-tongued detective with a brilliant mind and a fondness for collecting dolls, is 22 years old. After the heinous murders on Confinement Island, the government designates him a Class A Special Dangerous Ability User and sentences him to life imprisonment. The sentence is delivered by Takatsukasa Shuichi, an agent assigned to the Special Ability Department, who reads the verdict to him in person. "You're going to imprison me?" Through a haze of smoke exhaled with languid ease, the pale-skinned detective looks toward his unfamiliar-looking warden. His gaze behind the light brown lenses seems to be smiling. "I solved the case and exposed the mastermind for the government, and instead of thanking me, they hand down a sentence like this. How outrageous." "That's right." Takatsukasa Shuichi meets his gaze, puts away the verdict, and replies coolly. "That's why I submitted a transfer request to my superiors." "Oh? Where to?" "Here." Takatsukasa Shuichi, who had concealed his identity while serving as the doll detective's assistant before faking his own death to escape, now becomes the secret agent responsible for keeping the Doll Detective under 24-hour surveillance. He gets no days off and no "parole." Until that day. * The story contains original elements. You can follow it even if you haven't read the original, so jump right in; * The male lead is the top.
