Those who survive the deadly mission worlds sometimes wonder: beyond the mission towers lie cities, but what lies beyond the cities?

For years, it was just something to chat about over tea.

But Xue Ying has shed too much blood and too many tears seeking the answer to that question, and lost too many people he could have kept alive.

After ten years of hell, he was ready to die. Fortunately, before his last drop of blood ran dry, Xue Ying became the first player to kill a tower keeper.

He climbed over mountains of corpses and reached the top of the city wall, telling everyone still alive: The city is nothing special, either.

When Xue Ying took Qin Xueshi in, the boy was only fifteen or sixteen, with beautiful, soft blond hair. He was kindhearted and timid, and wouldn't last long in the city.

Beating and scolding him did no good. He still acted like a pitiful burden. Xue Ying found him annoying, but Qin Xueshi's brother had died for him, so he had to look after the boy, for better or worse.

Xue Ying didn't even know where he would die. The only thing he could do was teach Qin Xueshi the city's rules of survival as quickly as possible.

So he made him learn to disembowel people and kill with one strike, and forced him to personally kill his mutated friends. Beatings were commonplace, as was being crushed under the soles of Xue Ying's designer shoes. Every tear, every sign of weakness, every stubborn refusal to obey was beaten down.

Qin Xueshi said through red-rimmed eyes that he hated him. Xue Ying punched him and told him that only the strong had the right to rule.

At some point, the boy's youthful features grew sharp, and he shot up until he was taller than Xue Ying. He used to be unable to kill a rabbit. Now he could decapitate an enemy faster than Xue Ying.

In the man-eating missions, the scales of good and evil tipped out of balance.

The beautiful things in him, like innocence and gentleness, gradually disappeared from his eyes. Qin Xueshi became mad and powerful, but utterly inhuman, a living demon everyone in the city avoided.

Now, Xue Ying needed to rely on his strength.

Qin Xueshi affectionately caressed the area beside Xue Ying's ear.

"Let's make a deal.

I can do whatever you ask.

The price is that you belong to me."

Qin Xueshi smiled sweetly. "Brother, you were right. Become strong enough, and you can have anything you want."

"Let's destroy this place together. It's what you've wanted all along, isn't it?"
