A black-haired, black-eyed Slytherin girl, two years above Harry, and Snape's adopted daughter. Her relationship with Snape is purely familial.
Not long after Voldemort's downfall, Snape was reluctantly forced by Dumbledore to adopt this little witch, whose parents had died and who was only three years old. He named her Delancey Snape.
At first, Snape saw her as quite a nuisance, because he truly had no idea how to communicate with children and was especially afraid of their crying.
Unexpectedly, the girl almost never cried. She seemed more mature than other children her age and never interrupted his work with potions.
Snape gradually grew quite fond of her, and little by little, came to love her sincerely.
Delancey Snape learned quickly. At the few aristocratic gatherings her father took her to, she picked up every trick the adults used to ingratiate themselves with one another.
Whenever the adults saw her, they praised how lovable she was. Even Dumbledore was no exception. But for some reason, there was a hint of concern in his praise.
Delancey loved seeing everyone like her. As she grew up, she developed a new aspiration.
Power.
If she stood at the pinnacle of power, everyone would love her from the bottom of their hearts.
But the arrival of one girl slowly taught her that false affection could never earn true love.
True love had to be met with true love.
