! Focuses on family bonds and an ensemble cast. The main story is told primarily from Harry's point of view.
Note: The "Edwardian trope" means an unmarried younger sister raising her older siblings' children. In this story, Lily is the older sister.
The day before her engagement, Petunia Evans received a package.
Inside were news of her sister and brother-in-law's deaths, a letter, two suspicious cat hairs, and a little brat who couldn't even talk (supposedly her nephew).
She really wanted to believe it was a prank.
But when the letter jumped out of the package in front of her fiance and read its contents with great drama, she knew her engagement was over.
With a heart full of resentment, she could only start living as an "unwed mother" with this tagalong she couldn't get rid of.
Fortunately, Harry, the nephew, was tough and not that easy to accidentally kill. And if you talked things over with him nicely, he could go for a while without blowing up the cabbage he didn't like, or keep his hair from getting so "puffy" for three or four days.
The only problem was that people judged her for raising a child alone, so she moved four or five times.
...And each time they moved, they met new and strange neighbors.
--
The first neighbor, who was more or less normal, was an old lady with a cat, if you ignored her odd habit of talking to it now and then.
The second neighbor was a strange man in black robes. On the first day after he moved in, Petunia and Harry ran into him at the door. Petunia immediately gritted her teeth, grabbed Harry by the collar, and told him that if he misbehaved, this weird uncle would eat him.
Who knew if the man in black heard her, but he glared at Harry. That scared Harry so much he stopped crying.
The third neighbor was a lame old man who looked vicious. But Harry figured out his secret: he made toys. Behind Petunia's back, Harry secretly played with his spinning top, mirror, and electric broom.
Unfortunately, Petunia found out soon enough, and the old man wouldn't even let Harry play with his moving, expensive eyeball toy before they moved away.
The fourth neighbor was a stray cat with beautiful markings. She came to the neighborhood at the same time every day and patrolled with her head held high. After she walked past the dead mouse Harry had specially prepared for her without so much as a glance for the third time, perhaps she was finally touched. She magnanimously allowed Harry to scratch her chin.
Harry couldn't help begging Petunia to adopt her.
Petunia: "Looking after you is enough. And now you want me to get a cat?! Not happening!"
The fifth neighbor was a silver-haired old man. He had a bad temper, but he was an excellent cook, especially when it came to roast lamb chops.
During the summer before Harry started secondary school, Petunia was busy with work, so he spent nearly every lunchtime at the neighbor's house across the street. He traded a little cleaning and a couple of sarcastic remarks for a lavish lunch.
After a few drinks, the bad-tempered old man would often mutter strange things.
Like, "You little menace, when are you finally going to Hogwarts?"
Then, in July, an even stranger giant came to visit.
(Dumbledore: Stop moving already. We're running out of staff.)

(Little skit)
At the Hogwarts opening ceremony.
Harry: Hey, that sour-faced Potions professor used to be my neighbor.
Ron (skeptical): Then you must have gotten along pretty well, right?
Harry (firmly): My aunt said he eats fresh children every day.
Hermione: ...Oh my goodness!

*Cozy and heartwarming. Voldemort's main plot will be resolved very simply. This is mostly about writing some everyday fun.
*Petunia's been remade into someone whose sharp tongue hides a soft heart. You could say this is a somewhat "redemptive" take, but the only goal is to give Harry a happy childhood, or at least a happier one.
*The story has the feel of a big Order of the Phoenix family. If that's not your thing, I don't recommend reading.
*You can probably guess, but I still want to explain. The characters are drawn from the original Order of the Phoenix (Mad-Eye, Aberforth), the original master of "cat spies" (Mrs. Figg), and two hardworking gardeners (Snape and McGonagall). There really aren't any more, so I had to call back Lupin, who really does eat children (Lupin: How rude!)
Theme: I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.
In fact, Petunia's sadness, resistance and even defensive hostility in this article are quite understandable. After all, she is Harry's guardian, but someone she doesn't know can rush in and take her child away, plausibly... Harry is an innocent child, but Hagrid's approach is quite ill-considered. He bypasses Petunia and negotiates with Harry from beginning to end, even when the guardian tries to stop him. Expressing anger towards her guardian [Tucking her cheek] When she thought about how after Hagrid and Harry left, Petunia would have to face dirty floors, messy furniture, wasted sunk costs, and the house she was currently living in was still the most hated house that the wizarding world gave her as a "charity" for Harry's sake. It was tantamount to facing a choice between self-esteem and bread, and she felt suffocated [Tickling her cheek] The collapse of an adult Muggle only took a moment...
The wait has finally come. Harry should be graduating from primary school.
That's really going to mean you're going to drop out of elementary school.
I jumped to read some more. In this article, it may be because he has received enough love and a sense of security that Harry dares to do things unscrupulously that his aunt forbids him to do, and even goes against her... In short, I don't like this very much, like a naughty child...
Elementary school graduation sounds so pitiful
Will they still have a chance to reconcile in 26 years?
Still waiting for my aunt and nephew to reconcile after 26 years🥺🥺
Teacher, you have updated!!! Yay!!!! After reading it, I started to feel heartbroken again. My aunt must be very sad that even though they have lived together for so many years, Harry still chose magic as firmly as his mother and abandoned her again. But in fact, Harry has been secretly contacting the magical world behind his aunt's back. Www. It's okay, aunt, the custody rights are now yours and the child will come back!
Wizards are too arrogant. They don't put Petunia on an equal footing to communicate, and they don't even mention the possible dangers.
It's been almost a year. I came back and looked at it. I don't know if I can still read this article. The author's writing is really good.
