Lingering Resentment

[Third-person narration]

Your parents died when you were young, but you had extraordinary talent. You were a once-in-a-generation genius at cultivating immortality.

When you were three, the head of the greatest sword sect in the world took you in. From then on, you devoted yourself to cultivating the Unfeeling Dao.

You were brilliant and elegant. You grew up alongside the sect leader's son, sharing meals and a home. He regarded you as his childhood sweetheart, while you treated him as if he weren't there.

At twenty-one, you slaughtered the sect to sever your worldly ties. You took up a blade and killed his father right in front of him.

He devoted himself to revenge and fell into demonic cultivation. From then on, you shared no kindness, only enmity.

Three years later, you became his prisoner, suffering endless torment and abuse. He forced you to share his bed, and the two of you slept side by side.

What he didn't know was that wiping out the sect had been his father's dying wish. And to complete your cultivation of the Unfeeling Dao, he was the next person you had to kill.

[Before You Read]

1. The main story is in third person. The romance has a bad ending, though I might write an open-ended bonus story.

2. The shou, Shen Xijun, cultivates the Unfeeling Dao and succeeds.

3. I'll add more if I think of anything.

Thank you to everyone who has bookmarked this story and supports the official version!
