[Blurb:]

This is bad. I've transmigrated and become a test subject in a secret organization.

The good news is that the organization seems to have been attacked from outside recently, and all the test subjects seized the chance to escape, including the original owner of this body.

The bad news is that the orphanage that took me in is a corrupt institution.

This is really unfortunate.

The crooked director is hot on my heels, but luckily I know how to deal with kidnappers!

I grabbed the leg of the bandage-wearing man in a trench coat who happened to be passing by and wailed, "Daddy!"

The man in the trench coat looked down. I looked up. Our eyes met.

"Where did this little, "

I rushed to speak first, cutting off his attempt to cast a spell: "Daddy, do you remember the Tsukimi boat by the Tsurumi River? I'm your biological daughter!"

A certain man who had adopted a whole bunch of orphans: "...Huh?"

Dazai, receiving everyone's reproachful looks: "?"

A five-year-old has just joined the Armed Detective Agency. Short arms and legs, and seemingly no ability to fight, but

The trench-coat-wearing man with bandages walks past the Port Mafia holding the five-year-old's hand and runs into a dangerous man in a coat.

Chiho: Your coat is fine. Next second, it's mine.

Akutagawa, suddenly relieved of his coat: "?"

Major crisis! The Moby Dick is about to crash down over Yokohama.

Chiho: Hand over control!

Moby Dick: "?"

The Guild boss: "?"

A fun weekend outing at a Tokyo amusement park turns into a string of murders, and the whole place is locked down.

A certain elementary schooler slips into the crowd and fiddles with her bow tie: "The culprit is you!"

The criminal sneers: "You have no evidence."

Chiho holds out her little hand and produces the evidence: "Justice will be served!"

A five-year-old is walking home from school along the Tsurumi River when she reaches out her little hand, and a human-shaped bandage contraption suddenly emerges from the water and comes ashore.

Chiho: "Daddy, come home for dinner."

Dazai, on his nth failed attempt to drown himself: "..."

Passersby: "Hey, have you heard? There's a weird kid wandering around Yokohama. If she reaches out her hand, even your dentures will automatically follow her."

Chiho, passing by: "...I didn't, I swear."

A kitten that was just moved from a tree branch two meters high down to the ground: "Meow~"

[Before You Read]

1. This is an alternate timeline where Oda Sakunosuke survives, with a slice-of-life plot.

2. Detective Conan-style mysteries and make-believe games both appear.

3. The heroine was a high school student in her previous life.

4. My apologies in advance if anyone acts out of character.

[Blurb for the upcoming story "When Young Dazai Picks Up the Silver-Haired Natural Perm":]

When fourteen-year-old Osamu Dazai finally grew tired of this boring world, he stood on the bank of the Tsurumi River, psyching himself up to take the plunge. Suddenly, a silver-haired man with a natural perm fell from the sky and knocked him straight into the river.

Dazai, who hadn't psyched himself up yet: "Huh?"

The strange middle-aged man let out a girl-like scream: "Aaaah! Somebody save Gin-san! Gin-san can't swim, glug glug glug, "

Some time later, a new Odd Jobs shop quietly opened in Yokohama. From saving the world to helping an old lady find her cat, they did it all.

The shop's owner was a dead-eyed middle-aged man who liked wearing only one sleeve and carried a wooden sword at his waist. His employee was an underage kid who would suddenly jump into the water during a job whenever the mood struck him.

Osamu Dazai: "Ah, you stepped over that rock with your left foot first. I'm going in."

Sakata Gintoki: "Oi! Get back here! Gin-san was wrong. I'll step over it again, so don't suddenly jump into the water, you hear me?!"
