Teacher Yu Adopted a Puppy

Mo Xiangbei's high school life could be summed up in one sentence: she had a crush on the new Chinese teacher for two whole years.

As graduation approached, she gave her teacher a lofty, "fake love letter," then ran off without daring to wait for her reaction.

They met again on the night of her university's centennial celebration. Under her advisor's apartment building, she "picked up" Teacher Yu, who was completely drunk, and the two naturally went to a hotel.

A wrong start led to a wrong turn of events. Teacher Yu narrowed her eyes and recited the pretentious, nonsensical postmodern poem in a slurred voice. Mo Xiangbei chose to get back at her by calling her "Teacher Yu" in the middle of it. Teacher Yu didn't get even with words; she went straight to action and scratched Mo Xiangbei's back raw.

After a few wild nights, Teacher Yu seemed to have lost her memory and acted as if she had never known Mo Xiangbei.

As an outstanding student of her advisor, Mo Xiangbei kept finding countless natural opportunities to run into her at home, at school, and along the route where she walked her dog.

At last, tired of all these chance encounters, Teacher Yu formally invited her to visit her studio apartment.

Like cola meeting ice, sandalwood paired with old books, clear tea meeting snowmelt, or an evening breeze setting off a beautiful woman.

The memories that should have stayed buried surged back like a tide, bringing the people involved back to a heart-stopping ache in their throats and the heartbeat of standing breathlessly close.

The moment when they tried to hold back, but could only give in.

(Maybe the outcome wasn't wrong after all.)

Please note: There is no romantic development while the teacher-student relationship is ongoing.

Older woman and puppy-dog romance, with a seven-year age gap.
