When Zhao Sujin woke up in the hospital, she had lost all her memories. Seeing the disgust in everyone's eyes and her own captivating face in the mirror, she couldn't help wondering if she was a villain.
A rather beautiful villain, at that.
It would be even better if she didn't have to see all those strange things.
For example, the little boy who came looking for his mother in the middle of the night, drenched from head to toe. Who knew where the troublesome kid had been playing?
Then there was the old woman riding on a patient's back, who kept darting glances at her. One day, Zhao Sujin couldn't hold back and asked the old woman, "Ma'am, are you nearsighted?"
"Ma'am, do you receive welfare?"
"Ma'am, how much is your pension each month? Where's your family?"
The old woman immediately hopped off the patient.
"The elderly sure are in great shape," Zhao Sujin remarked with a sigh. She didn't notice the fear on the faces around her, because they couldn't see any old woman.
After the Zhao family brought their real daughter home, they announced to the public that the fake daughter had been sent abroad to recuperate.
The real daughter, Zhao Xuexiu, always wore a regretful expression when talking about her younger sister. "My sister may not be ready to share our parents' love with someone else just yet."
"But all I really want is to become part of this family."
But when a reporter asked her about the death of her fiance, Meng Cheng, Zhao Xuexiu chose not to answer and ended the press conference. Under the protection of her bodyguards, she left with an inscrutable expression.
Outside the press conference, a pair of deep-set eyes appeared behind the lowered window of a black Maybach. Meng Zhou's long, slender fingers, emerging from beneath his suit sleeve, rolled the window up.
"Mr. Meng, are you really going to let your younger brother's death go just like that?"
"No rush. Find someone for me."
"Who?"
"Zhao Sujin."
