[Ridiculous jianghu comedy, sect fiction, historical road-trip story (what even is this)]
[A cat-loving con artist whom cats and dogs dislike x a protective, fluffy, tsundere young tiger-demon master]
Blurb 1: Chang Baile had only been human for a little over a month. He hadn't even figured out how much a steamed bun cost in town when a passing Daoist suppressed him for a hundred years. What an injustice.
Fine, suppress me if you must. I'll just take another nap, then rise again in a hundred years... Oh, that smells good.
A roast chicken led Chang Baile to fall for this con artist's trick in a daze. He accidentally made a pact with Rushi Guan and bid farewell to his life as a wealthy tiger king, becoming a wandering scoundrel whom nobody welcomed wherever he went.
Chang Baile was furious, wishing he could stew this scrawny fellow in a pot, but their fates were linked, so he couldn't kill or beat him.
That con artist was no good. He had a pile of enemies and got into trouble every day. He could write a story and have its real-life subject show up at his door, or go out to eat and get kidnapped after catching the eye of the Hehuan Sect. He was always touching Chang Baile's ears and tail, and was so irritating!
This is the story of a Daoist whom neither cats nor dogs liked finally getting a cat.
Chang Baile had never seen the human world, so after coming out into it, he was completely baffled: a sword-path prodigy got scammed by the Hehuan Sect; a visiting competitor at a cultivation alchemy tournament in Shu was disqualified after getting heartburn and withdrawing; a renowned talisman master was replaced by mass-produced talismans and ended up on the streets... The jianghu really was dangerous!
The best knife wielder in the jianghu is a chef, the greatest swordsman under heaven is an actor, and the cultivation world's top healer specializes in treating weak stomachs. This is too hilarious! The jianghu is doomed!
Blurb 2:
A hundred years ago, a consciousness from beneath the Buddha's seat entered the human world and, through a twist of fate, was born into a Daoist temple. Unable to choose between the two paths, he eventually gave himself a new name, left to wander the jianghu, and became a con artist.
His name was "Rushi Guan."
For a hundred years, he amused himself in the human world. When he grew tired and weary, his fate still wasn't at its end. Good-hearted people rescued him when he tried to drown himself; when he tried to hang himself, the rope came undone. Even when he offered himself up to a tiger, he somehow escaped being skinned and dismembered, and instead signed a life-and-death pact with a tiger demon who had cultivated for many years.
He told the tiger demon: "It's fine. Once we travel west to the holy land, I'll get to die, and you'll be free too."
Reader's Guide
1. I have no religious beliefs, and neither do the characters, more or less. They're simply jianghu drifters through and through. Readers with religious beliefs, please don't take offense.
2. It won't be very long. It's just a silly little slice-of-life story.
3. A lot of things are copied from China's geography.
4. Artist: @Du Shentan.
5. This book contains: making things up, imitating cats (literally), swindling and cheating, lots of personal indulgences, and weak stomachs (a homophone joke).
6. Both main characters have pretty poor morals.
Theme: The kitty is hungry. I want food.
Finished spreading flowers! I was attracted by the comical comedy of the copywriting, but I felt uncomfortable reading the text from beginning to end. Especially when I had my first dust removal, I started to feel sour in my heart. I felt that the daily joys were completely floating on the surface. It really made me unable to laugh. It wasn't until the extra episode that I started to feel happy again. Wow, it's so cruel. I'm really scared when I see the back. Author, you tricked me into killing [Joker].
