Love Begins After the Blade Is Sheathed

My new novel, [SakaHina] All Assassins Are Doujinshi-Style Younger Men!, is now underway.

Bonus chapters for this novel will be updated from time to time---

I, Retsuen, have three things in this life I can never give up:

The longsword in my hands, my family in Kamura Village, and my comrades in Elgado.

After working at Sakamoto's Shop in another world for three years, a fourth item was added to the list of things I "must protect": the shop's family and my strange assassin friends, forever.

If that mission window hadn't suddenly popped up, I could have done it with ease.

So it turns out I'm the protagonist of a legendary masterpiece from Capcom, the all-time classic action RPG Monster Hunter Rise!

In the game, you become a hunter, hunt monsters, and keep evolving your weapons to take on... Stop!

Anyway, my current mission is to defeat a mysterious "enemy behind the scenes." If I do that, maybe I can go back to Kamura Village.

I pick up a heavy item box with both hands. A wicked little cat I haven't seen in ages clings to my leg. Sneaking off on my journey, all I can think about is quickly taking down my target and returning victorious, wielding my longsword as coolly as ever!

Then everyone will praise me! They'll pat my head and make me something delicious! Yay!

It's not yay.

The gentle friend I made on my travels, whose hair is as clear as snow, is actually the enemy's mysterious, unstable big boss. One minute he's crying piteously and throwing a suicidal tantrum, the next he's grinning wickedly and inviting me to join him in creating a new world. What is he even doing?

I beat them all up before I could think.

My new colleagues at my new company are my old assassin friends, which is pretty nice. But they keep getting into huge brawls over who gets to team up with me. One fights with a Six Paths Blade and has great agility, one uses a goat-horn hammer and makes a great team, and one wields a circular saw with excellent attack power. Who should I choose?

There's no choice to make. I actually want to go hunting, no, do missions with the company's longsword-wielding founding master.

But my mission to defeat the target isn't going to be simple after all...

The so-called "enemy behind the scenes" might not be the enemy boss? No, that can't be!

But I won't give up! I sharpen my longsword again.

After all, if you're a longsword hunter, you have to do everything in your power to defeat anything that threatens the people you want to protect!

Reading Guide:

1. Just have fun reading.

2. There are one-sided crushes and a little male pregnancy.

3. There is persecution, overwhelming force, and a shocking worldview. The main character doesn't suffer unfairly, at least from his own point of view.

4. Fanfiction means canon divergence, headcanons, and OOC by default. (Especially Yue, whose bizarre canon setting will be heavily changed, so be warned! Though my version is pretty bizarre, too.) Everyone gets saved.

Theme: Friends and home are both indispensable
