I Heard You Like Me

There's a handsome guy in my class, and I have a crush on him.

One day, I accidentally walk in on him "breaking up" with someone. I stop to gossip and get caught. With tears in his eyes, he fights me for the tool he uses to sneak out of school.

While I protest fiercely that he can't take his escape tool away, the discipline director orders us:

"If you won't break up, then I'll make you!"

From then on, I'm forced into a fake school romance with him.

Later, I learn that the breakup scene that day was a misunderstanding. The girl was his older sister, and their parents were divorcing. His sister had decided to go with their mother.

It feels like the story has gone from youthful heartbreak to family drama.
