Reborn, I Refuse the Tragic Ending

[An early writing exercise. Read with caution.]

"In my first life, I was pinned against the city wall, my face pressed hard against the stones. The enemy army was closing in, and I seemed close to death, so don't come to save me. It wouldn't be worth it."

"I'm grateful for your archery. It let the blood flow down without a sound. There was... so much of it, and I was still a little scared. But since I've already died once, let's leave each other in peace... and marry other people."
