Qu Yunzhi considers himself an ordinary residential complex manager. There's just one thing that makes him different: he's a residential complex that has gained sentience!
The sentient residential complex manager gets along pretty well with the residents, since they're all kind, good people.
Qu Yunzhi dreams of winning the Outstanding Residential Complex Award from the neighborhood office, but for some reason his complex has a terrible reputation.
-- [Dungeon: Haunted Complex. Difficulty: SSS. Survival rate: One in a hundred]
Qu Yunzhi doesn't understand. He decides to start by talking to the residents about proper conduct: They need to sort their trash, because the complex is about to enter an awards competition.
A resident with dozens of tentacles, currently chewing on a challenger's corpse: Sorry about that, Manager Qu. I'll be more careful next time.
Everyone is already being so civilized, so why hasn't the complex's reputation improved?
-- [Why have they suddenly piled all the bodies together? There's a mountain of corpses in the complex now!]
Qu Yunzhi notices some strange little creatures known as "challengers." These little creatures are fragile, and the residents' everyday activities could easily get them killed.
Qu Yunzhi decides to protect them, but even more challengers flood into the complex, and he can't keep an eye on every one of them.
The complex's reputation seems to be getting even worse!
-- [The clearance rate seems to have gone up lately. Hurry and clear the dungeon! Wait, no, it's a trap!]
Qu Yunzhi realizes that the challengers are closely connected to the complex's reputation. He decides to solve the problem at its source: stop the challengers from entering the complex!
That can't be right! Why has the complex's reputation exploded?!
-- [What's going on?! The clearance rate has dropped all the way to zero!]
The residents notice that Manager Qu seems troubled. They decide to help him achieve his wish!
So all sorts of strange beings leave their homes and gently awaken the challengers' hearts: Want to team up, friend? I'll carry you!
-- [Am I going crazy? No! The world has gone crazy!]
Facing the final boss, the battered challengers are nearly in despair. Who could have guessed that Qu Yunzhi, the one known as the Ruler, would be even more distraught?
You should've just said you needed me to cooperate! I'm going to miss the Outstanding Residential Complex Award!!!
Theme: Kindness will eventually warm the world.
