"Friends with benefits to an official relationship"
Before Jin Yi and Liang Zhiyu got started, they made everything perfectly clear: Not into LTR.
Their relationship existed only on the nights they met. Beyond that, they would never interfere in each other’s lives, and either could call it off at any time.
It was only meant to go as far as it went: have fun, leave without regrets.
So when Jin Yi told Liang Zhiyu she wanted to end things, he didn’t even furrow his brow. He respected her decision and said, “Okay.”

They met again a year later.
The project Jin Yi was leading was in the financing stage, and the founder of Yuanyu, who was also the investor, came to conduct due diligence.
She came out of the break room with a cup of coffee and accidentally spilled it on the visitor’s sleeve.
She was about to apologize when she looked up and met a pair of eyes she knew all too well.
They had looked into each other’s eyes countless times. Most of the time, she had been indulging his preference, being told to look at him when things grew heated.
Now those eyes merely glanced at his sleeve, utterly unruffled. As he rolled it up, his gaze never lingered on her.
Afterward, her boss took her over to apologize. The other man’s schedule was too packed to bother discussing compensation for a shirt.
Jin Yi had no intention of bothering him either. She only said, “Mr. Liang, may I have your secretary’s contact information? I’ll get in touch with him.”
At those words, the man suddenly stopped.
His brow furrowed slightly, and his eyes swept over her face, inch by inch. “I seem to remember you have my contact information.”

The day she met her blind date was supposed to be the day she and Liang Zhiyu had their regular appointment.
That evening, Jin Yi, who should have been at the restaurant, was forced to cancel.
Her phone kept ringing in the bedroom. Jin Yi wanted to answer, but the man behind her leaned down and said, “I don’t want to resort to unnecessary measures, like making you pay for a dress and leaving you unable to go out.”
He laid the prenuptial agreement in front of her. It was full of clauses that benefited her.
“I’ve thought it over. You’re more compatible with me than with anyone else.”
“May you share this empty twilight with me, meet me without needing a reason.”
