Ying Yan was born with heterochromia and was ostracized by his classmates from childhood.

After he started college, the uncle who raised him cut ties with him. His roommates also went out of their way to avoid him. It wasn't exactly malicious, but they certainly didn't mean well.

So Ying Yan applied to live off campus and rent a place with someone else.

His new roommate looked familiar: Xia Cong, the guy from the campus forum who was rumored to keep a snake in his bed.

Ying Yan was afraid of snakes, so he always shut the door tightly whenever he went in or out.

But at night, he would feel a chill in the air, something sticky winding around his chest, the side of his neck, his wrists, and his ankles.

The place where he worked part-time was a den of vice. Someone forced Ying Yan to drink a glass of liquor, and his body soon began to burn.

Ying Yan fled and ran into a familiar figure outside the bar. Without thinking, he hid behind him, his tearful eyes pitiful as he pleaded, "Xia Cong, help me."

When he woke again, he was naked in the other man's arms, with something pressing between his thighs.

Ying Yan jolted upright, meeting the other's drowsy gaze as he clutched the blanket.

The secret he had kept for eighteen years had been discovered by accident.

Xia Cong promised to keep it secret, but for some reason, he suddenly became unusually attentive to him.

Until the next time Xia Cong pinned Ying Yan to the bed, and Ying Yan stared in terror at the tentacles waving in the air, controlled by Xia Cong and wrapped around him.

"I stumbled onto your secret. In exchange, I'll tell you one of mine."

Xia Cong was the most successful experimental subject. He was exceptionally handsome and intelligent, and his body would stay twenty years old forever.

His only flaw was that he couldn't smell anything.

The first time he met Ying Yan, Xia Cong was drawn to a fragrance that suddenly entered his nose.

When Ying Yan was asleep, he would release his tentacles, greedily savoring his newly acquired sense of smell.

Until one day, his roommate knocked on his door. Some of Xia Cong's dried slime still clung to his face as he cautiously complained, "Xia Cong, I think your snake got into my room. It was wrapped around my thigh last night..."

The culprit froze for a moment, then politely and tactfully apologized.

Behind his back, his tentacles waved excitedly, as if reminding him of last night's exquisite sensation.

So that soft, warm skin had been the root of a man's thigh.

On the campus forum, a student whose account had been banned and who wished to remain anonymous left these final words:
