The punctuation has all been fixed, so enjoy~ This book was sacrificed before it went premium. If you like it, please add it to your favorites, thank you! My new historical romance, "The Black Lotus, Sickly Crown Princess", is a marriage-chasing-after-the-divorce story, and updates have begun. Check it out in my author page.
Reading Guide:
1. Two-faced, hedonistic, scheming heir VS money-loving, theatrical fashion designer
2. Marriage before love x secret identity revealed
Huang Muyao unexpectedly transmigrates into the body of a prefect's daughter. A miserable modern-day office worker turned young lady, she decides to lie flat and enjoy her new life. But an old marriage agreement forces her to marry Lu Yue, a dissolute young noble. She wants to run, but has no money, so she can only obediently put on the red veil and get married.
On their wedding night, Lu Yue says, “From now on, we'll be husband and wife in name only.”
Huang Muyao secretly rejoices. What a sweet deal!
Huang Muyao and Lu Yue sign an agreement to be a couple in name only.
With her dowry in hand, Huang Muyao plans to earn enough money to get a divorce! By chance, she takes over Lu Yue's private business, the Tangyi Clothing House, and soon makes it thrive.
When Huang Muyao kills a court official, Lu Yue steps forward to protect her. Huang Muyao realizes this dissolute noble isn't what he seems. “Should I call you the heir, or the Commander of the Palace Guards? You even deceived your own wife?”
“That's right. From the moment you took over the Tangyi Clothing House... every step was part of a scheme I laid out.”
Theme: Once your heart and feelings are involved, it's for a lifetime.
It feels like the scene changes too fast and I can't react quickly enough 😭
This punctuation really affects the perception... I suggest the author look at the usage of double quotation marks in the dialogue.
