From the Start, Break Off Three Engagements

The village party secretary of Taohua Village, Cao Wangfu, has three lovely daughters, each of whom their old father carefully matched with a good family.

The eldest, Cao Yingchun, married a sent-down educated youth, who later became the head of a major factory.

The second, Cao Xiahe, chose a soldier, who later became a military district leader.

The youngest, Cao Qiuju, picked the village scholar, who later rose to a high-ranking government post.

Who wouldn't praise Secretary Cao for his good judgment?

But the second daughter, Cao Xiahe, who has arrived from another world, knows that they are disposable side characters in a political novel. All three Cao sons-in-law will rise to success, but in their glorious lives, the Cao daughters are nothing but doormats, unworthy of sharing in their success.

Cao Xiahe threw off her quilt and jumped out of bed.

She would call off the engagements.

The first step toward changing her fate: dump all the men.
