At sixteen, Sheng Wanjun suddenly got a Life System. It made her play minor characters and cannon fodder in five different novels according to their plots, with the added bonus of dying at the hands of secret agents.
In an utterly ordinary production brigade, melodrama and gossip went hand in hand, alongside hard work and being doted on. There was something for every reader.
A deadly poisoned gift had dropped from the sky. The unexpected newbie perk from the System was a medical checkup for her blood relatives.
Sheng Wanjun suddenly learned that her mother was still alive, and that her maternal grandmother might soon be angered to death!
No problem. The System had medicine!
She quickly bound herself to the System, took her grandparents home, and settled the score with her stepsister, who had stolen her chance to take an exam for a job.
But who could have guessed that a simple fight would somehow end with her stepmother taking one of her father's balls?
And her stepsister, you had your chance and still blew it. How could you miss out on the job by just one place?
Despite one setback after another, the plot forcibly corrected itself, and Sheng Wanjun and her stepsister were both sent to the countryside as educated youth, where they were forced (and willing) to live chaotic lives.
Well, who would have guessed that those ridiculous novels were hiding secrets of their own?
Anyway, she couldn't die before the plot killed her, so Sheng Wanjun completely lost it. She could gossip and work at the same time, and if anyone crossed her, they'd get a slap. If I'm going down, you're all coming with me!
The Life System, dragged into the small world to take the fall, was jumping up and down in a panic:
Aside from the mandatory plot-point missions, this Host refused to do a single other thing. Push her too hard and she'd just kill off the protagonist, forcing it to reset the timeline.
Getting the fake and real heiresses to become friends was one thing, but how had you made several male leads disappear too?
Help! This is a disaster! I knew being dragged here in an emergency meant trouble.
I don't want to be destroyed along with the small world!

Wei Tongxin was cannon fodder in a period novel.
There were five children in her family, and she was the third.
Her grandmother loved her eldest uncle, who had died long ago. Her mother loved her younger brother, the fourth child. Her father loved her older brother, the second child.
She wasn't as magically resourceful as her eldest sister, nor was she as young and good at acting cute as her youngest sister. So naturally, she became the first person in the family destined to be sent to the countryside.
But then Wei Tongxin, a worker who had transmigrated into a book, arrived, and she had no intention of going to the countryside.
After finally getting a healthy body, she was also lucky enough to find a dual-income family. In this family, anyone could be the one to lose out, but it wouldn't be her.
Oh, and there was also the “nice big brother next door” who had been so attentive to the original character every day. Once he got a job, he treated his old promises like they were nothing. She wouldn't let him off the hook either.
Qiao Tianming was the “most ineligible bachelor” in the courtyard. No one else would put the family home directly in the names of his two daughters like he did.
Even though he worked in the factory's transport team and had a good salary and benefits, very few young women were willing to take that kind of loss and become a stepmother to children with nothing to gain from it.
No one expected their neighbor, Wei Tongxin, to volunteer. She would treat Qiao Tianming's daughters as her own, as long as he got a vasectomy before they married.
The courtyard's eccentric, Qiao Tianming, couldn't possibly pass up such a good deal.

And so, while the younger members of the Wei family fought like crazy, Wei Tongxin stayed out of it completely, happily eating sunflower seeds with her two stepdaughters and watching the show.
But it seemed their family wasn't the only source of entertainment in the courtyard...
