The Rise of a Ming Dynasty Grand Secretary

Wen Zhen is a Hong Kong major-crimes detective. Just as he's preparing to submit evidence in a case, someone plants a bomb in his car. When he opens his eyes again, he's inside a martial arts novel he's read, having become a penniless scholar: beautiful, but too weak to hurt a fly. He's twenty-one, has a three-year-old daughter, and is the father of the vicious female supporting character who dies a gruesome death in the original story! System? None! Martial arts? He's too old to learn. No golden finger at all. This is what a disastrous start looks like. Still, he knows the plot. For instance, the world's greatest martial artist is lying on the verge of death in a ruined temple three miles away. They meet and come to know each other, sharing the joys and vendettas of the martial world and upholding justice throughout the realm. From then on, he writes essays on policy while the swordsman guards the courtyard gate with his sword. When bandits ambush him on the imperial examination road, the swordsman kills a man every ten paces. Hong Kong-style police officer x the martial world’s greatest assassin (beautiful top, strong bottom) Raising a child + imperial examinations and court politics + martial arts mystery-solving, all in one The world is full of storms, but I'm lucky to stand by your side. (The story begins in the twelfth year of the Zhengtong era of the Ming dynasty. In the thirteenth year, the emperor travels to the Oirat as a hostage. This is an old-school wuxia story focused mainly on romance and solving mysterious cases, with the imperial examinations and court politics as secondary elements.) Content warning: Wherever the protagonist goes in the early chapters, he runs into melodramatic, tragic cases. The tone is goofy. If that's not your thing, please don't complain, just click away. Theme: A daughter is truly a thoughtful little darling.
