[Since this terrible writer's blurb is such a mess, here's a summary of the book right at the start]
[This is a long modern cultivation-and-development story, featuring a world-weary, dying human gong and a sunny, cheerful shou of a mysterious species. The main plot is about the two saving each other, developing their mountain home, and raising a bunch of fluffy disciples.]
Blurb:
Chen Chu, male, 20 years old, had just finished his graduate school entrance exams.
Then he learned that he had less than five years left to live.
At the same time, he received a text message: "Mr. Chen Chu, congratulations on your successful admission to our Baili Express Meow Meow Cult. Please report to Meow Meow Mountain in Baili County by July 31 of this year with some everyday household items, a few electronic devices, and at least five cat treats... No extensions, meow."
Chen Chu: What kind of prank is this?
He assumed the message was a prank from a mischievous friend and went about his life as usual: getting treatment, working on his graduation project, job hunting, going to interviews, failing interviews...
Until the afternoon of August 1, when an angry little scruffy dog, its fur puffed up so much that every hair seemed to bristle with rage, blocked his way home.
The scruffy little dog barked furiously: "Why didn't you report in! Do you know you're the only new student this year! I've been waiting for you at the foot of the mountain every day for nearly half a year, so why haven't you come!"
"If we can't recruit anyone else, the Meow Meow Cult is going to be shut down, meow!" The little dog burst into tears. "I don't want to be a stray cat without a teaching job that comes with social insurance and a housing fund!"
This dog could talk, and it had a species identity disorder. Was that right? It was not.
The scruffy little dog's name was Baili Miao, and he was good at sweet-talking.
Chen Chu was taken in by the grand promises Baili Miao spun, and somehow ended up being conned into going to an absurdly desolate mountain where not even birds would relieve themselves.
Chen Chu looked at everything before him and reached out in disbelief. "This is the Meow Meow Cult you said covered tens of thousands of mu and had hundreds of thousands of students?"
Baili Miao replied with complete confidence: "Just tell me, isn't it a huge place? And aren't there plenty of wild rabbits, weasels, pheasants...? Hey, you're the deputy sect leader! You just need to build some basic facilities and recruit some students!"
Chen Chu: "..."
With a dark look on his face, he turned and walked away.
He'd rather die somewhere else than in this dump!
Five years later, on the day Chen Chu was supposed to die.
Baili Miao let out a heartbroken wail. "My poor deputy sect leader..."
Chen Chu then grabbed him without mercy. "Slacking off again? Come help me make food for the little ones."
Baili Miao looked at the fluffy little balls practicing diligently all over the mountain, and at all the facilities built over the past few years. Thinking of how much food he had to cook, he rolled his eyes and fainted peacefully.
If only he'd known, he never would have made that wish for "a thriving sect, teachings spreading throughout the land, and a beloved by my side"...
This was way too much success!
P.S.:
1. A sweet modern cultivation story, a basic urban cultivation setting, with a very clueless shou and a very poor gong.
2. There will probably be mountain development and other such plotlines.
3. Possibly a fantasy the author had after failing the graduate school entrance exams and the civil service exam, then passing out from working overtime.
