Jiang Hehuan, Sword Venerable of the Xuanxiao Sect, was the most infamous figure in the history of the cultivation world.
His life inspired mixed opinions. He slew elders, wiped out his fellow disciples, slaughtered immortals, and committed countless atrocities. His crimes were so great that both gods and men despised him. Yet he also founded the Immortal Alliance, pacified the demon race, and sealed the Demon Venerable, bringing peace to the cultivation world with his many achievements.
It has now been five hundred years since Jiang Hehuan's death. His legends are still told in teahouses and among the various sects of the Immortal Alliance, but none of that has anything to do with Qi Fujin. He is just a small-time rogue cultivator.
By chance, Qi Fujin traveled to the past, five hundred years ago. Jiang Hehuan was still the dazzling, peerlessly distinguished senior brother of an immortal sect, not yet the ruthless Sword Venerable whom every sect in the Immortal Alliance would later speak of with trepidation.
The first time Qi Fujin transmigrated, the peerlessly handsome young man held a sword to his neck and asked coldly, “Who are you?”
Looking at the most legendary Sword Venerable in the cultivation world, Qi Fujin felt a strong urge to tease him. “I'm your future Dao companion.”
The sword at his neck drew an inch closer, but Qi Fujin noticed that the tips of Jiang Hehuan's ears had quietly turned red.
“D-don't talk nonsense!”
The second time he transmigrated, Qi Fujin took first place in the Immortal Clan's tournament. He tossed his prize into Jiang Hehuan's arms and asked as if joking, “Jiang Hehuan, will you become my Dao companion if I offer you this as a betrothal gift?”
Amid the shocked cries, scolding, and jeering, Qi Fujin noticed Jiang Hehuan's lips move.
The fifth time he transmigrated, Jiang Hehuan stood at the end of a long flight of stairs, his spiritual sword breaking apart piece by piece in his hand. His white robes were drenched in blood, and at his feet lay a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood, including his elders and fellow disciples.
Qi Fujin caught Jiang Hehuan before he fell.
“A Jin, shall we go home?”
“Okay.”
“Will you become my Dao companion?”
“Okay.”
“Then...” The arm around Qi Fujin's waist tightened. “Will you stay with me for all eternity, never parting?”
“Okay.”
The Nth time he transmigrated, Qi Fujin was dressed in a bright red wedding robe. He crossed the crowd and saw a figure ahead of him, dressed in red as well.
“Jiang Hehuan, ”
Jiang Hehuan turned around and looked at Qi Fujin's tear-streaked face. He spoke softly. “A Jin, I made a promise in this life. I'll fulfill it in the next. Forget about me...”
“You bastard...”
Reader's Guide:
A stern, serious old-fashioned top x a flirtatious, free-spirited bottom who knows exactly what he's doing.
Both are powerful, and they save each other. I'm honestly out of ideas for the blurb.
The number of times the bottom transmigrates isn't set. He travels to different periods in the top's life and won't always be by his side.
Happy ending. The romance isn't angsty. The couple is sweet and happy, and no breaking them up or reversing the roles. Fans who insist on one fixed top/bottom dynamic aren't welcome.
Unsure if there will be a side couple. If there is, it will be marked.
