★ Rekindled romance | A sea of hatred and passion | Male lead goes off the rails

★ Delicate, aloof good girl x elegant, wild young master

1. The film industry once had a phenomenal dark-horse youth film called "Fireworks Are Brief, We Are Forever." As it became a smash hit, its leads, Shen Ci and Fang Zhanyan, both still under seventeen, rose to fame as the nation's favorite couple.

Neither of them entered the entertainment industry afterward. They attended the same university and had an extremely public relationship.

A year later, they broke up, and Shen Ci went abroad. To everyone's regret, the beloved couple had a tragic ending.

According to people in the know, Shen Ci dumped Fang Zhanyan.

That certainly seemed to be the case. The arrogant young master used to talk about his girlfriend constantly, but after the breakup, he treated the name Shen Ci like a taboo, never mentioning her and never allowing anyone else to do so.

2. After returning to China, Shen Ci took on many side jobs to earn extra money. The most unusual one was helping people unlock doors.

One day, she got an unlocking job at an old apartment complex with two units on each floor.

When Shen Ci arrived at the agreed address, two men were standing outside. One had his eyelids half lowered and leaned casually to the side, as if nothing concerned him. His features were striking, and he looked even more rugged and sharp than the boy Shen Ci remembered.

Shen Ci looked at him and paused for two seconds. She pulled down the brim of her baseball cap and lowered her voice too. "Did someone here call for a locksmith?"

The other man answered. Fang Zhanyan showed no reaction.

Shen Ci relaxed a little. After unlocking the door, she took out her payment QR code.

The next second, a hand suddenly shut the door again.

"..." Shen Ci looked up.

Fang Zhanyan's face and voice were both as cold and hard as white porcelain. "Unlock it again."

3. Before long, photos of Shen Ci and Fang Zhanyan appearing together began circulating online.

Seeing them, everyone naturally thought the two might get back together. Unexpectedly, the next photo showed Shen Ci on a blind date with a man.

After getting through the date, Shen Ci returned home. Not long afterward, someone pounded on her door. She opened it, and before she could say a word,

Fang Zhanyan rushed in like a madman and kissed her.

Shen Ci trembled all over. In a daze, she heard the man bite at her lips and tongue, then plead in a near-whisper:

"Just comfort me... Just one sentence."

4. After they got back together, Fang Zhanyan became terribly suspicious, and Shen Ci could only humor him, doing her best to keep other men from appearing around her.

But sometimes that was impossible. One day, a friend dragged Shen Ci to watch a younger guy's basketball game so she could pursue him.

Unable to refuse her friend's enthusiasm, Shen Ci went and told Fang Zhanyan she was visiting her mother that day, so he wouldn't get suspicious.

As luck would have it, the three of them ran into Fang Zhanyan on their way to eat after the game.

That night, a trending topic appeared:

Meanwhile, in the bedroom, Shen Ci's face flushed as she said, "Please... turn off the lights..."

Fang Zhanyan watched her and smiled. The earring Shen Ci had lost years ago, now hanging from his neck, fell against her breastbone. He breathed into her ear. "Sure, I'll turn them off as soon as we're done."

Shen Ci / happy ending / They reunite at the start; the school-life arc will be written as a bonus story.
