Shen Yiqing was dying.
Before he died, he looked back on his eventful life.
He was born during the Republic of China era. In an age of war, he built a business from the ground up, going from the second son of a failing pawnshop in Haishi to a business tycoon with immense wealth.
His life could be summed up in one word: legendary.
Even his romantic life was legendary.
Not because he was especially devoted, nor because he was especially promiscuous.
It was because he was gay.
In an era with such backward ideas, he had been extraordinarily lucky to be born into a much more enlightened family.
Even so, he could never give the person he loved the proper status.
He closed his eyes with that as his only regret. When he opened them again, he had transmigrated to Haishi fifty years in the future.
His surname was still Shen, but now he was the Shen family's real young master, the one who had been switched at birth.
His muddleheaded parents favored the fake young master they'd raised for eighteen years.
His eldest brother was terminally lovesick. Although he held the position of president at Shen Corporation, all he did all day was act out possessive, jealous romance tropes with his unrequited love.
His second brother was a rebellious young punk with a rainbow-colored rooster comb hairstyle. The first time they met, he gave Shen Yiqing the finger and sang him a diss track.
His third brother was a gloomy, affection-starved boy who posted videos every day saying, "I don't want lots and lots of money. I just want lots and lots of love."
His twin fourth brother was a lovesick, white-cut-black yandere. He was practically a walking criminal code, the sort who could bring the entire Shen family to ruin in a matter of minutes.
And the sweet, innocent fake young master was constantly scheming to kick him out and secure his place in the family, even going so far as to collude with their business rivals.
After calculating the timeline, Shen Yiqing realized that the person now in charge of the Shen family was the adopted son he'd taken in and personally raised all those years ago.
Which meant all the fools jumping around in front of him were his filial grandsons and great-grandsons.
Shen Yiqing: It feels like the Shen family is about to go under.
At the banquet for the Shen family patriarch's seventieth birthday, rumors spread by the fake young master had the wealthy families of Haishi all waiting to laugh at the little sparrow who had barged into high society.
The powerful Shen patriarch, who had ruled the business world all his life, nearly stumbled when he saw the Shen family's real young master wearing a faintly amused expression. His sturdy body almost failed him.
Then he called out in a trembling voice: "Godfather."
Everyone's expressions changed dramatically.
After the patriarch's seventieth birthday, the wealthy families of Haishi began saying that the seemingly spry old man must have dementia and was clearly not as strong as he used to be.
Only a few people noticed that the Shen family's real young master, who had been pushed to the margins, had already become an honored guest.
Having lived a second life in peaceful times, Shen Yiqing had originally wanted nothing more than a quiet life.
But his descendants were hopeless.
He had no choice but to return to his old profession, take charge, and put the Shen family in order.
He would make these filial grandsons and great-grandsons, who were simply bored because life was too easy, learn just how cruel the world could be.
While ruthlessly putting the Shen family in order, Shen Yiqing accidentally discovered that the young Chu boy who kept avoiding him at his new school had also transmigrated from decades earlier. He was the person who had died because of Shen Yiqing, the regret that had haunted him all his life.
At last, the two could speak honestly with each other.
Shen Yiqing smiled and lifted Chu Yunlang's chin. "You've kept quiet and hidden this from me for so long. Is there nothing you want to say?"
"My little child groom?"
The usually taciturn boy couldn't help but turn red-eyed.
Human, May I Cuddle You?
Baizhi's true form is a calico cat, renowned as one of the cat world's beauties.
Because he did an excellent job at the cat cafe and was devoted to cuddling every human and bringing them warmth, he was recognized as a good cat with immeasurable merit and was specially permitted to take human form.
To earn money to support his other cat-cafe siblings, he made his debut as an actor, playing a supporting male role in a movie.
Life wasn't easy. This little cat bravely ventured into show business, but human relationships were so complicated that Baizhi soon found himself troubled.
It seemed a human named Xu Shuangjiang was keeping him at arm's length.
Xu Shuangjiang had just been nominated for Best Actor and had immediately joined a new production, where he met a young man.
He was handsome and sweet, and knew how to act adorable. He made Xu Shuangjiang's heart melt.
No, it wasn't just his heart melting.
The first time Xu Shuangjiang saw him, he had trouble breathing, his heart raced, and his skin flushed. He fainted on the spot.
Xu Shuangjiang thought the iron tree had finally blossomed and he'd met the one.
The manager, who hurriedly learned that his artist had been taken to the hospital, looked at his slightly swollen, handsome face and clutched his head, screaming.
Where have you been petting cats again? How did you give yourself a cat allergy during filming?
Baizhi loved humans. He thought every biped in the world was a good person.
He especially liked Xu Shuangjiang because Xu Shuangjiang was super, super nice to him and smelled wonderful.
Because of a misunderstanding, Baizhi thought Xu Shuangjiang had already seen through his true identity.
During filming, his craving for bipeds got the better of him, and he wanted to ask for a cuddle.
But Xu Shuangjiang only refused to take their intimacy too quickly with a gaze that was restrained and profound, a look Baizhi couldn't understand.
Love meant restraint.
The movie star clutched his heart, which had started pounding again, and thought to himself.
Baizhi asked, "Why can you resist petting me?"
Then he added in a tiny voice, "You're the most reserved guest I've ever had."
Xu Shuangjiang: ???
Wait, what did I just hear?
Was that Chinese? Why does it sound like I can't understand it?
A gorgeous little cat who loves cuddles and is a master of acting cute x an aloof movie star with a cat allergy who risks his life to pet cats and loves with quiet restraint

Spread flowers, spread flowersヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~
Finished spreading flowers! It was so satisfying to read it all in one go. I have followed each of the three books and I really like Shou's character. He loves eating group favorites. I like the author's writing style and light humor. The writing style is also very good and it should be more popular! 🥺💪
