The Runaway Capital City Sparrow

Xue Zeping, the eldest son of the Xue family, one of Kyoto's seven great clans, was a refreshing exception among the old-money elite. While the other young masters were busy keeping pretty companions, funding female students, and marrying heiresses for alliances, he focused solely on business, ruthlessly conquering the commercial world without ever getting entangled in romance. He was held up as a model for the next generation of wealthy families.

His chief secretary, Yu Qing, was alluring, with a curvaceous figure and impeccable manners. For seven years, she had been his sharpest blade in business, the most comforting shadow in his daily life, and the most obedient cat in his bed.

Then, in October, the news of an arranged marriage between the Xue and Huang families blazed across the headlines.

Yu Qing quietly handed in her resignation. Xue Zeping was surprised, but he approved it all the same.

They met again on a spring night a year later.

At a glamorous business gala, Xue Zeping entered with his fiancée and saw Yu Qing on another man's arm, smiling brightly. Her eyes sparkled like stars, and her beauty outshone every flower.

In that moment, his mood darkened. The moonlight that had always belonged to him had quietly fallen into someone else's arms.

Later, Xue Zeping, once hailed as a model scion of an elite family, changed completely.

He no longer cared about his arranged marriage or his dignified composure. Like an obsessed madman, he fought and scrambled for another man's girlfriend, without the least attempt to hide it.
