For now, I'll post weekly to keep the word count down. Daily updates will resume at the end of the month.
Second chance at love / mutual pursuit / saving one another
[Denies her feelings x optimistic and cheerful | psychological counselor x violinist]
In high school, Lin Yu pursued the top student in their grade for three whole years, and finally got her wish after graduation.
But just a few months later, she dumped the top student.
Ten years after their breakup, Lin Yu ran into her ex-boyfriend Si Nan at a friend's engagement party.
The top student was still the best: accomplished, successful at a young age, and someone everyone else could only look up to.
During a truth-or-dare game at the party, Si Nan had bad luck and drew a series of questions: "Have you ever regretted breaking up with your first love? Have you ever thought about getting back together? Would you be friends with them?"
Under the shifting lights, Si Nan sat calmly on the booth sofa, his brows lowered so his expression was impossible to read. He answered plainly: "I was dumped. No. I wouldn't."
Lin Yu put on a fake smile. After all, their breakup hadn't exactly been amicable.
It was only later that she understood... Si Nan's "I wouldn't" had an unspoken second half: "I wouldn't be friends with you because I don't want to be just friends."
He still wanted to start over with her.
[Extra scene]
One day, while tidying Si Nan's bookshelf, Lin Yu found an old phone that still worked.
When she opened it, she saw a string of unsent text messages in the drafts folder:
It's winter, and the temperature in Glasgow has dropped. Remember to bundle up and keep warm.
I'm in the UK. Can we meet?
The last message in the drafts folder read: I miss you.
It was last edited on Valentine's Day, her birthday.
A lighthearted, sweet romance. Both leads are each other's only partners, happy ending.
No romance involving minors.
My writing isn't very strong, but I'm working hard to improve.
The title is taken from Crowd Lu's song The Name Carved in My Heart.
