[Synopsis]
On his way home from grocery shopping, horror game streamer Qin Min finds a cat and uploads a rescue video to a website, giving his channel a little boost.
After that, a series of strange things start happening at home.
First, a cup he'd drunk from suddenly gets knocked over in the middle of the night, and his dishes and chopsticks show signs of having been used. Then, in the dead of night, he hears the low voice of an unfamiliar man. Whenever he walks, he feels a sticky gaze fixed on him from behind.
The security camera by the door shows nothing unusual. With no other options, Qin Min asks an expert to exorcise the ghost live online.
He carefully scans every corner of his home with a device and finds a small peachwood stick tucked away in a nook. Everyone in the livestream chat cries out: So it really was a ghost!
Seeing the comments, Qin Min breaks into a cold sweat and throws his phone aside before fleeing in a panic. He remembers to grab his cat on the way out, but the next second, someone lifts him by the back of his collar and scoops him up.
Qin Min, a coward with a serious addiction to thrills, wails in despair: "Help! Help! Help me, "
His cat impatiently covers his mouth with a paw. "Quiet. Wasn't I the one you were looking for?"
Qin Min: "...?"
A man, completely naked and inexplicably proud, cheerfully announces, "Good. From today on, you're no longer a stray with no cat to keep you. I will take responsibility for you."
Qin Min is stunned. "Then what about all the cat food and cans I bought you?"
Cat: "It means you're rich. Your offerings are acceptable."
Having a naked man suddenly appear in the house is quite a sight, so the cat crosses one paw over the other, transforms, and sits on the coffee table to give a formal introduction. He claims to be from the ancient Longmao clan, able to eat dreams and moonlight as a ghost hunter, and says he's a fallen half-immortal.
Who knew that after hearing all this, the foolish human would not only refuse to believe him, but laugh at him outright? "A cute cat? Fine, let's say you are cute. But can you catch mice?"
Cat: "...This one cannot."
Qin Min whistles. "Well, look at that, an old-fashioned cat."
The cat fumes. "Have you ever seen a cat that can talk?"
Qin Min thinks for a moment, deeply reflects on the question, then pulls out his phone three seconds later and opens the camera. "Almost forgot. Quick, say a few more things. I'll post it on my feed."
