*Old Classmate, New Romance
[Initial Synopsis Draft, Pending Revision]
Chen Jia and Xiao Miao were deskmates throughout all three years of high school.
In their first year, after he learned that Xiao Miao's new nickname in class was "Little Bird," he put his artistic talent to use. He had been drawing freely since he was two, and he drew a little bird in flight on her math textbook.
In their second year, he realized that Xiao Miao was a girl whose emotions swung wildly, and that he seemed to be the one affecting them. What a guilt-inducing discovery.
In their third year, he realized she might like him, because even when she was laughing with her friends, her peripheral vision would still sweep over him.
Don't ask how he knew. Back then, he was secretly watching her out of the corner of his eye, too.
After the college entrance exams, at their last class reunion, Chen Jia pretended to be drunk and slumped into a corner. Sure enough, Xiao Miao came over. As was her habit, she leaned close to his left ear and softly asked if he was drunk.
He wasn't, but he lied to her anyway, and was rewarded with a light peck.
At that moment, Chen Jia finally realized that what everyone said was true: Xiao Miao really was a little bird. She loved her freedom, and even her kisses were like a bird pecking at its food.
That little bird spent seven years flying freely outside, and only then finally deigned to fly back to his side.
A Guide to Flying:
1. No underage romance. They confess their feelings only after the college entrance exams, then spend seven years apart before reuniting. Both leads are sexually inexperienced, and the story is one-on-one. Read with confidence.
2. Apart from the synopsis and the male lead's point of view in Chapter One, the story will mostly be told from the female lead's point of view.
3. This time, rather than writing a love story, I want to write about a girl's growth. It's a slow, gentle story, with a leisurely pace, a large portion set in high school, and a touch of an ensemble cast. Please skip it if that's not your thing.
4. First published on 2025.1.16. The initial synopsis draft was written on 2024.7.26. Screenshots of all later revisions have been saved.
Thank you for reading this far. I hope you enjoy the story.
Theme: Study hard and keep improving.
