Because of the "Gene Rain," every resident of Lengyuan City mutated, turning into a monster.
Black Snow was a powerful snake king, poisonous from head to toe, ruthless and taciturn. He had conquered half the territory for his organization.
In this city where monsters ran rampant, he went wherever he pleased. Everyone who saw him immediately got out of his way, terrified he might set his sights on them.
But he had one problem: Lengyuan City lay in the subarctic zone, where temperatures were low. As a cold-blooded animal, he felt cold every day, and his heating bill was twice as high as everyone else's. Winter was even worse. With every step, he felt so sleepy he might collapse on the spot and start hibernating.
One day, a newcomer named Moon Bone joined his organization.
The other was an immortal bird, with bright golden eyes that looked warm just to behold.
So, for the first time in his life, the man who had never made a friend in all these years approached someone of his own accord, all for a portable, free heater.

They became partners and started working together.
They were both equally twisted, so they hit it off right away:
One beat people up while the other applauded.
One stitched wounds while the other wailed at the funeral.
One acted shamelessly while the other rolled his eyes.
And that wasn't all. As the temperature dropped, his heating privileges gradually improved:
At first, he could only bask in a little warmth by getting close. Then he was allowed to touch the other's head to warm his hands. Eventually, he could just hold him while they slept.
Black Snow was very pleased. At last, he wasn't cold or sleepy anymore.
Everything seemed perfect, but before long, he discovered a new problem: when summer came and the temperature rose, Moon Bone seemed much too hot.
"From now on, you must stay 45 centimeters away from me. Exactly. Not a centimeter more or less."
That was how Black Snow, who had always thrown his weight around, laid down the law. He carried a ruler everywhere, constantly reminding the other to keep the required distance.
But Moon Bone didn't listen at all. He was always bouncing around, impossible to control. And whenever he was in a good mood, he would cling to Black Snow and refuse to let go, nearly giving him heatstroke.
Moon Bone: "That's right, I did it on purpose. Your blushing face is so funny!"
Black Snow: "That's just because your body temperature is too high! You're burning me up!"
This was a textbook case of playing with fire and getting burned.
Black Snow was furious, but there was nothing he could do.
A tsundere seme who throws punches at the slightest provocation + a scheming, playful uke who takes great delight in riling him up

-----Original blurb
After an unexplained "Gene Rain," every human in Lengyuan City mutated to some degree, growing more and more monstrous over time.
The city was cut off from the outside world, and society fell into chaos.
Under these circumstances, the "Self-Ordered" came into being.
As the name suggests, they are a group of powerful mutants who joined forces with the aim of restoring order and trust in Lengyuan City. Their work ranges from dealing with troublemakers to helping tree spirits investigate who stole their fruit. In other words, they're volunteer vigilantes, volunteer firefighters, volunteers for just about everything...
As professionals, all the members fear no challenge and are always ready to die... At least, that's what they claim.
But there are two great villains they only dare discuss in whispers:
Black Snow, ranked first on the Cold-Blooded List. His best-known deed was telling someone to write down their sob story as a report because he didn't want to listen, thereby saving himself time and effort.
Moon Bone, ranked last on the Good Person List. His best-known deed was buying crutches for an injured colleague, then taking the colleague's wheelchair for himself because he didn't want to walk home.
And so life went on.
We believe that someday, the sun will shine on us again.
