I Ground My Way to Becoming a Natural Disaster with an Evolution Panel

In the interstellar era, some humans awaken a supernatural creature avatar after turning eighteen.

The avatar might be a mutated animal or an imaginary species. It can travel through higher-dimensional space and grant its owner powers, wealth, and longevity beyond an ordinary person’s wildest dreams…

To qualify for an awakening, interstellar schools teach both academics and combat, pushing students to compete over talent and, even more fiercely, resources.

Wen Jing, who transmigrated here, is a poor student, but she ranks first in her entire class.

While training and studying just like everyone her age, she also has a panel in her mind that keeps adding +1.

Her only concern is that the panel says humans can only gain ten points, and she maxed that out long ago.

On the day she finally awakens, the scanner announces:

People mock the once-in-a-generation genius for becoming a good-for-nothing. Wen Jing, however, looks at the panel in her mind

Her insect body really is F-rank, with every attribute a pitiful 0.01. The only exception is her species’ potential limit: “∞.”

Looking at the skill points she’d saved up over eighteen years, Wen Jing smiles.

What does it matter if her talent is F-rank? As long as she can add points without limit, she can evolve without limit!

Evolve [Super Digestive System] so that when she’s injured, she can eat rocks or dirt instead of taking medicine;

Evolve… Wait, [Gestalt Consciousness]?!

Looking back, Wen Jing realizes she has become a cosmic calamity in the eyes of other civilizations.

They call her the Insect Queen.

[Reader’s Notes]

1. My take on the interstellar genre. A power-up story set in an entirely fictional universe, unrelated to reality. Please don’t compare it to real life.

2. Not a conventional insectoid setting (important). The heroine’s human and insect forms are two sides of the same coin. She’ll evolve from an individual into the universe’s only insect species, with a gestalt consciousness: I am the swarm, and the swarm is me.

3. Plot-focused, with the heroine as the strongest. The romantic pairing is tied to a plot reveal, so no spoilers for now.

4. Some bugs are foreshadowing.
