Scoundrels Always Want to Harm Me

What should you do when you wanted to become a good emperor, only to discover that your world is an otome game? After dying in confinement during her eighth year as a deposed emperor, Ji Yue transmigrated to modern society. She thought her fate in her past life was because she hadn't worked hard enough. Then she saw an otome game called The Princess's Diary... It was set in the familiar Great Xia Dynasty, and the story began with the princess's ascension to the throne. It had multiple endings, with romanceable male leads including the regent, the Imperial Preceptor, the Great General, a young master from a great clan, and the greatest assassin in the land. Ji Yue realized that her past life had been exactly the game's standard bad ending, the "Deposed Emperor of the Forbidden Palace," where she failed to win over even one male lead. In an otome game, if you can't win over the male leads, of course you'll meet a bad end. So she wasn't the one at fault. It was the world! Ji Yue splurged on every paid bundle and played through every ending overnight. She saw the different solo endings that came from winning over different male leads: "Mother of the Realm," "Caged Canary," "Conqueror of New Lands," "Noble Clan," "Retiring from the Martial World," and more. Just as she was about to complete the final perfect ending, "Men at Her Feet," in which she won over every character, her vision blurred. Suddenly, she was back at fifteen, at the moment she received the edict naming her heir to the throne. This time, she also had a character status screen with all her attributes maxed out, thanks to the money she'd spent to speedrun the game. Later, the male leads gradually awakened to their memories of being romanced. But Ji Yue was thinking: Which one should she kill first? #Reborn once more, this time I'm a paying player# #None of you treacherous rebels are getting off easy# #A groveling redemption arc? How about a trip to the execution ground instead?# Theme: Be at peace with yourself
