He looked up in a daze and met a pair of dark, profound eyes.

The world had sound again. Xu Zhou said little, but one by one, the people who had bullied him came to apologize.

Xu Xingli used to love Xu Zhou most of all. His older brother was tall and straight as bamboo, always cool and distant, always restrained and proper.

But what happened in his previous life had left him heartbroken. He hated the Xu family, and he hated Xu Zhou.

To escape the Xu family, he came out in front of everyone. They called him crazy and threw him out in the middle of the night, in a torrential downpour.

Xu Xingli couldn't have been happier. He dropped the evidence and walked away without looking back.

But he had no umbrella. As he stood by the road, soaked through and trying to hail a cab, a Bentley pulled up beside him.

Xu Zhou got out.

The man Xu Xingli had used as his coming-out prop pinned him against the car door, drenched from head to toe. Warm breath brushed his ear, and a low voice murmured, "I'm here to take you home."

P.S. A slow-burn story. All the villains will be taken off the stage later on, so readers looking for a fast pace may want to skip this one! If you like it, stay; if not, feel free to leave. Reading should be a comfortable experience, so don't force yourself!
