This is the old draft from six years ago of my fanfic, HP: The Unknown Future. It was replaced in the current version. To read the main story, visit my profile. It's the first one listed.
I've been revising the story all along, and I do think my writing now is much better than it was back in 2019. But then I started wondering: if the person I was in 2019 knew that one day in the future, every word she'd worked so hard to write would be completely revised and replaced, would she be angry and heartbroken?
Luckily, I kept the old version. I used to think it was enough to have it saved on my computer, but now I feel that although the old draft has plenty of flaws, it deserves to be published and read, too.
What's more, I spent hundreds of hours six years ago typing it out, one pinyin syllable at a time. Compared with what I write now, its prose is less fluid, its action scenes are very clumsy, its language is colloquial, and much of the plot is unreasonable. But it also contains distinctive ideas and a spark that the person I am now no longer has.
Whenever I replace a chapter in the main story, I'll update a chapter here as well, until I've replaced every chapter I feel needs revising.
