The Washington Post: Senator Evans's youngest son, a recent New York University graduate, has committed murder?
Tate Evans: Slander! Defamation! A distortion of the facts! It's all because of that Judge Sentence. Washington, I want to appeal again!
But what's done is done. Our young Mr. Evans will probably have to spend some time in prison first.
Officer Haley: Take your Bible...
Norton: Accept the baptism of our great Lord!
Officer Haley: ...Listen, kid. No matter how rich you are, you'd better behave yourself.
Tate Evans: Oh? What about now? (He pulls out the hundred-dollar bill his mother gave him during her visit just now.)
Norton: Evans, well... Please, sit down. Mr. Evans has told me everything. Have a seat.
Thanks to his money and his powerful family connections, Tate managed to join the group his cellmate belonged to... Oh, right. His cellmate was Andy Dufresne, a banker who was good at carving stone.
There was something strange about Andy. He was like an angel freed from filth, singing sacred hymns to the heavens. Tate had thought that everyone in prison was a vicious criminal. At least, that was what he had believed about criminals for the first twenty-one years of his life.
But it was clear that Andy Dufresne shattered that belief, and the cracks in it only grew deeper.
Tate loved looking into Andy's eyes,
like a boundless ocean where the years passed in peace.
1. My usual apologies for OOC! Please forgive me if anyone feels out of character...
2. This is my first time writing in first person, and also my first time writing a pure romance. So if the pacing is too fast (like suddenly falling in love for no reason) or the descriptions are too clichéd, please be kind to me...
3. This is just a collection of short stories, probably only about twenty thousand words, and eight chapters in all. I'm writing purely for my own enjoyment, so it's short and sweet. (That's why I said the love might seem to come out of nowhere, uh.) (Maybe it was love at first sight?) (Stop. If it was love at first sight, why did you write so much buildup?)
4. I advise the parentheses in the previous point to stop talking to themselves.
5. The whole story is finished for now, but I still want to revise it, so I'll open it up in the New Year! As for which day, it depends on how far I've gotten by then. It might be New Year's Eve, the first day, or even the second day. (Uh, what are you saying? Pick one already!)
6. If anyone likes it, I'll be so happy! The niche I write for is always so unpopular, so it's hard to tell if anyone will even see this. (Covers face.)
7. Forget it. How is anyone supposed to be interested when you wrote such a boring blurb? (Don't bully me, I really don't know how to write blurbs.)
8. That's enough. No more talking to yourself in the blurb.
9. Anyway, thanks to everyone who took the time to read my little story!
