Recently, Ye Minchu's sugar daddy, Lyris, had been acting strangely.
He had gone from stiff and aloof to gentle and considerate, and even his once-to-the-second curfew had become more lenient.
But she paid it no mind. Their two-year contract was already more than halfway over, and all she wanted was to pocket the last payment and make a run for it.
This was nothing but a purely financial arrangement. Ye Minchu only expected herself to meet the bare minimum standard of an employee.
The contract ended precisely at midnight. As the clock chimed, Ye Minchu dropped her practiced smile.
She lifted her chin arrogantly, no longer looking the least bit obedient. "The contract is over, Lyris. I'm going back home."
The foreign man with black hair and green eyes smiled calmly and set down the ring box from inside his suit jacket.
It was all right. Nothing was over yet.
His Bessy would never get away.

Back home, Ye Minchu was living the good life.
With Lyris no longer keeping her in line, she could openly smoke and drink to her heart's content.
Having money was great. She could book five of the most expensive male models all at once!
What a waste of money, though, because Lyris's shadow appeared outside the private room.
His eyes darkened as he looked at the men around her.
"Bessy, I have a better contract here. Want to continue?"
Reader's Guide:
1. The heroine is emotionally detached and not very ethical. Please don't judge her too harshly; just enjoy the story. The romance develops slowly, so don't read if that's not your thing. She did develop some feelings while the contract was still in effect, but not many. They only get together because the man keeps throwing himself at her.
2. The hero is extremely, extremely, extremely cold at first. Feel free to join me in cursing him out.
3. The author's values are not the characters' values. Please don't apply the story to real life, and let's all be good people.
4. The story is set in a fictional foreign country. Please don't read it as depicting a real place. The characters are not based on real people.
